Ghana international Abdul Mumin is in advanced talks with a Portuguese club after a proposed move to Getafe fell through earlier in the transfer window, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
Sources say Getafe opened negotiations for the 28-year-old at the start of the window but failed to reach an agreement after the two parties could not agree on personal terms.
The former Rayo Vallecano defender is now closing in on a fresh opportunity, with discussions progressing well. However, interest remains from Girona and Osasuna, while clubs in Ligue 1, England and Major League Soccer are also monitoring his situation.
Mumin became a free agent after rejecting a contract extension from Rayo Vallecano, who offered him reduced terms to remain at the club.

The Ghana international returned to action towards the end of last season after recovering from a long-term ACL injury, making three La Liga appearances before being included in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite not featuring during the tournament, Mumin’s experience in La Liga and availability as a free agent have made him an attractive option on the market, with a decision on his future expected soon.
