Ghana international Abdul Mumin is attracting interest from Getafe, Girona and Osasuna, while clubs in Ligue 1, England and Major League Soccer (MLS) are also monitoring his situation, sources have revealed to Footy-Africa.
The 28-year-old is weighing up his options after leaving Rayo Vallecano, having rejected a contract extension following a reduced salary offer. A decision on his next club is expected in the coming weeks.
Mumin entered the 2025/26 season while continuing his recovery from the ACL injury that had sidelined him for more than a year. He returned to make three La Liga appearances before earning a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Although selected for the tournament, the centre-back did not feature in any of the Black Stars’ matches.
Despite the lengthy layoff, the experienced defender continues to attract strong interest because of his proven quality in La Liga and his availability as a free agent.
The former Vitória Guimarães defender joined Rayo Vallecano in 2022 and established himself as one of the club’s key players before suffering the serious knee injury. He has made five appearances for the Black Stars and is expected to decide on his next destination soon.
