Ghana midfielder Abu Francis is on the verge of completing a €2.5 million move to French Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC, Footy-Africa can confirm.

The deal with Belgian club Cercle Brugge is in its final stages, with personal terms already agreed between the player and Toulouse.

The 24-year-old is eager to make the switch, despite interest from Turkish sides Basaksehir FK and Trabzonspor, as well as Italian clubs Torino and Genoa. Burnley were also monitoring the situation but did not advance talks.

Abu joined Cercle Brugge in 2022 and has made over 60 league appearances, scoring one goal and providing seven assists. A key figure in the Belgian Pro League, the midfielder wears the number 21 shirt and is valued at €1.8 million. Cercle Brugge, aware that he has just one year left on his contract, are open to selling him this summer.

Sources reveal the deal will see him increase his current yearly wage, which stands at £182,000—approximately €215,000, according to Salary Sport.

Internationally, Abu has earned five caps for the Ghana national team since making his debut and remains a rising figure within the Black Stars setup.

He began his professional career with Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, breaking into the first team during the 2019/20 season after progressing through their youth ranks.
