Reports linking Ghana captain Andre Ayew with a move to French Ligue 2 side AC Ajaccio have been described as false. A source close to the player told Footy-Africa that the claims are “completely fake and should be disregarded,” insisting the 35-year-old is currently focused on maintaining peak fitness while weighing up his next move.
“There’s no truth in the Ajaccio story,” the source clarified. “Yes, Andre is in talks with a few clubs, but none of them is Ajaccio. He is training intensively on his own and preparing for what comes next.”
Ayew spent the past two seasons with Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre, where he made 40 appearances across competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing one assist. However, it remains unclear whether the club will offer him a new deal.
“Where he goes next is crucial,” the source added. “He still has something to offer, and any club that signs him will be getting a player with experience, leadership, and strong mentality.”
The veteran forward, who has played for clubs such as Swansea, West Ham, Marseille, Fenerbahce, and Al Sadd, is also battling to regain his place in the Black Stars, with his national team future under scrutiny ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
