Arsenal might no longer be the favorites to land Ademola Lookman amid transfer negotiations while surprise candidate has emerged, according to The Sun.

Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bolster the offensive depth and add variability ahead of the upcoming European campaign and new English Premier League season.

The Reds are willing to offer Β£45 million to close the deal with the 27-year-old Nigerian international.

Meanwhile, the Gunners bosses are keeping an eye on the situation, having missed out on Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

“Atalanta should let Lookman follow his dream,” Nigerian legend Uche insists

Across 40 appearances last season, Lookman has netted 20 times with six assists sending Atalanta to the Champions League. In three seasons at Atalanta, he has played 118 games, scoring 52 goals and registering 21 assists.

Despite being under contract until 2027 with Italian side Atalanta, Lookman informed the club’s top brass of his desire to leave this summer.
