Turkish side Besiktas have finalized the signing of Ivorian defender Emmanuel Agbadou from Premier League outfit Wolves, bringing his one-year spell at the English club to an end.
The 28-year-old joined the West Midlands club in January 2025 during their fight for Premier League survival after impressing at French side Reims. He played a key role in helping the club avoid relegation and maintain their top-flight status after starting all but two of the league matches since his arrival.
This season, he featured in 13 of Wolves’ 16 league games, before heading to Morocco to represent Ivory Coast at the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament. His final appearance for the club came in the 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth last month.
Besiktas have agreed to pay a fee in the region of €20 million for the experienced defender, who signed a four-and-a-half year deal until 2030.
Agbadou will bring valuable experience to the back line, while his ability to cover as a defensive midfielder could also be a key asset as Besiktas pursue a return to European competition.

Besiktas will pay a fee in the region of about €20 million to sign the defender, which includes a fixed €18 million and an additional €2 million in add-ons.
The fee represents a slight profit for Wolves, who paid a total package of around €18 million to sign the 28-year-old from Reims just over a year ago

Per Capology, Agbadou earned around £85,000 per week at Wolves, amounting to £4.42 million annually and will now receive a more significant wage after signing his contract at Besiktas.
The Turkish club have made a huge investment to secure his signature, making him the second-most expensive player in their history.

Agbadou joined Wolves in January 2025 after an impressive stint at French club Reims and immediately became a key member of the squad, helping them avoid relegation in the previous campaign.
The experienced defender leaves the club after 35 appearances in all competitions and will be hoping to make a mark in his spell with Besiktas, helping them secure an European return and challenge for trophies in the coming campaigns.
