Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi is on the verge of completing a permanent transfer to Spanish champions Barcelona with the two clubs close to an agreement, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The 24-year-old joined the German side in 2022 and had entered the final year of his contract this month, casting doubts over his long-term future at the club.
Adeyemi has made 146 appearances across all competitions since his arrival at the German club, including 39 last season where he scored 10 goals and provided six assists and was one of their best performers in a difficult campaign.
He has now reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona after refusing to negotiate a contract extension with Dortmund, with a deal now very close to completion and the German club are keen on a sale to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires next summer.
According to a source very close to the player, the deal could be agreed very soon with Dortmund also open to letting the winger leave this summer.
βBVB is now on board. What is left is salary agreement. 90% closeβ, the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.
Barcelona have already submitted an official bid to Dortmund for the signature of the 24-year-old and a deal could be agreed in the region of β¬40 million, which would see the German forward become the clubβs second arrival of the transfer window after Anthony Gordonβs move from Newcastle United.
