AFC Bournemouth are weighing up a move for German-Ghanaian attacker Jamie Leweling as they reshape their frontline following Antoine Semenyo’s blockbuster transfer to Manchester City, according to multiple reports in England and Germany.

With Semenyo completing a reported £65 million move to the Premier League champions, the Cherries have moved swiftly to identify a replacement, and Leweling has risen to the top of their shortlist. The 24-year-old VfB Stuttgart winger is viewed internally as a like-for-like option capable of replicating the pace, directness and attacking output left behind by the Ghana international.

Sources suggest Bournemouth have already opened discussions with Stuttgart, with negotiations said to be advancing positively as the club explores its options in the Bundesliga market. Leweling, who remains under contract until 2029, is understood to be receptive to the idea of testing himself in England should an agreement be reached between the two sides.

Currently a key figure for Stuttgart, Leweling has featured 24 times across competitions this season, registering four goals and seven assists. His versatility across the front line and strong end product have attracted growing attention beyond Germany, with Bournemouth now positioning themselves at the front of the queue.

Semenyo’s exit leaves a sizable hole at the Vitality Stadium. Since his arrival, the Black Stars forward developed into one of the Premier League’s most dynamic attackers, earning a five-and-a-half-year contract at Manchester City that runs until 2031.

Replacing his influence will be no small task, but Bournemouth believe Leweling has the profile and upside to shoulder that responsibility.

As the winter window unfolds, all eyes will be on whether Bournemouth can turn their interest into a deal and secure one of the Bundesliga’s standout wide men to spearhead the next phase of their attack.
