Highly-rated Gambian youngster Bubacarr Suso is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis from Colley Stars FC, bringing to an end a long-standing dispute between the parties over his future, which had also included options in Turkey, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The prolific centre forward, who represents The Gambia at U-17 level, is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Tunisian record champions that will keep him at the club until 2030.
Esperance Tunis, four-time CAF Champions League winners, have moved decisively to secure the signature of one of the most exciting young talents to emerge from Gambian grassroots football in recent years.
Suso rose to national prominence as a key member of the Gambia U-17 side that qualified for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Although the Young Scorpions narrowly missed out on a place at the FIFA U-17 World Cup after a 2–1 playoff defeat to Uganda, Suso’s performances in the tournament underlined his potential.
Away from the international stage, the teenage striker has been the most talked-about youngster in rural Gambia over the past few months.
Playing for his local team, he scored more than 10 goals, showcasing his natural finishing ability, physical presence, and hunger in front of goal—qualities that have made him stand out among his peers.
