Nigerian center-back Emmanuel Chukwu agreed to join Austrian side Wolfsberger AC on a season-long loan,Β Sky Sport Austria reports.

The 18-year-old moves from Hoffenheim, the team he has been a part of since February. Chukwu switched to Hoffenheim from Grassrunners Football Club (Nigeria).

It’s believed that the loan spell in Austria will see the Nigerian defender play more regular football on a senior level and boost his development.

Chukwu has been a part of Hoffenheim’s youth system with no matches for the senior squad yet.

In Austria, he will join his compatriot Chibuike Nwaiwu.

Chukwu was part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations hosted by Egypt in May.
