Ghana international Jerome Opoku is attracting growing interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with Como, Beşiktaş, Hull City and a Spanish club all monitoring the İstanbul Başakşehir defender, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

The 27-year-old has enhanced his reputation with a series of commanding performances for the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he has emerged as one of Carlos Queiroz’s most consistent players.

Sources close to the player say Como have already made first contact with Opoku’s representatives as the Serie A side assess defensive reinforcements. Turkish giants Beşiktaş, newly promoted Premier League side Hull City and an unnamed Spanish side are also keeping close tabs on his situation.

The same sources indicate that Opoku is only prepared to leave Başakşehir for a move that meets his salary expectations. He currently earns an estimated gross annual salary of €310,000, approximately €5,962 per week, with Como willing to offer improved terms.

Başakşehir are under no pressure to sell. Opoku remains under contract until June 2027, meaning any interested club will have to negotiate with the Turkish side and pay well above his current estimated €8 million market value to secure his signature.

While transfer interest continues to grow, Opoku’s immediate focus remains Ghana’s World Cup campaign, with strong performances on football’s biggest stage only strengthening his position ahead of what promises to be a busy summer.
