Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Match Preview

Crystal Palace head into the tie as one of the two remaining unbeaten teams in the league this season alongside the Reds, hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2025/26 season. They are fifth on the standings, having recorded two wins and three draws from their first five matches.

The Eagles built on a penalty shootout win over Liverpool in the Community Shield with an impressive draw at Chelsea on opening day. Since then, they have drawn Nottingham Forest and newly-promoted Sunderland, while recording wins against Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have started the new campaign in the best possible manner with a 100% record, following five wins from as many matches. The defending champions have bounced back from their Community Shield heartbreak to Palace, with six wins in all competitions this season.

They kickstarted the campaign with a 4-2 win over Bournemouth and have since recorded impressive results against Newcastle United, Arsenal, Burnley, Everton and also against Atletico Madrid in their UEFA Champions League match-day one clash.

Head-to-Head Record (Last five meetings)

  • 10.08.2025 – Crystal Palace 3-2 Liverpool (after penalties)
  • 25.05.2025 – Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace
  • 05.10.2024 – Crystal Palace 0-1 Liverpool
  • 14.04.2024 – Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace
  • 09.12.2023 – Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

This matchup has been evenly balanced in recent outings, with a single draw, while both teams have recorded two wins apiece.

However, Liverpool have won 10 of their last 11 trips to Selhurst Park, making them massive favourites for this encounter.

Recent Form: Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are on an impressive nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions, keeping five clean sheets during this period.

They are also unbeaten in the league this season, recording two wins and three draws in five matches.

The Eagles are also unbeaten in their last eight league matches at home and in their last 15 in all competitions.

Recent Form: Liverpool

Liverpool are one of the most in-form sides in Europe and have won nine of their last 10 in all competitions, including the last six. They have only lost two of their last 13 matches in the EPL, dating back to last season.

The Reds have won both of their away matches this season, improving on their run of one win and three defeats in their last four away matches in the 2024/25 campaign.

Player to Watch: Christantus Uche

Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche joined the Eagles on transfer deadline day and has only been limited to a couple of substitute appearances.

However, the 22-year-old could offer a different attacking dimension if called upon, as his pace and dribbling ability could cause Liverpool problems at the back.

Best Betting Odds

Away (Liverpool) to Win or Draw – 1.28 (via1xBet)

Prediction

Liverpool’s attacking options and strong away record against Crystal Palace gives them the edge in this matchup, as they aim to secure a positive result.
