Dutch-born defender Endurance Alade in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has revealed that representing Nigeria’s Super Eagles would be a dream come true, despite being eligible to play for the Netherlands.

Alade, who was born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents, currently plays for Vitesse U-21. In an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa, the 20-year-old expressed a strong desire to wear the green and white of Nigeria, citing pride and a deep connection to his roots.

“Representing the Super Eagles would mean a lot to me. It’s about pride, identity and representing where my roots are from. Wearing that jersey would be an honour and a responsibility I would take very seriously,” Alade told Footy-Africa.

The versatile defender, who can operate as a right-back or centre-back, disclosed that he has not yet been contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation but remains optimistic about the future.

“So far, there hasn’t been any direct contact yet. My main focus has been on developing consistently at club level and performing well whenever I get the opportunity. I believe if I continue working hard and improving, the right opportunities will come at the right time,” he added.

Alade is a regular feature for Vitesse U-21 in the Dutch Eredivisie U-21 league. He began his football career at MSV ’71, before moving to Excelsior Maassluis, where he spent two years, and later joined VV Spijkenisse in 2023.
