Cameroonian forward Faris Moumbagna is officially on his way to Serie A, with a switch to Cremonese all but sealed. The 24-year-old landed in Italy on Tuesday night and is scheduled to complete his medical today before putting pen to paper, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

The deal, finalized with Olympique de Marseille, is structured as a loan with an option to buy. Marseille will pocket €300,000 immediately, while Cremonese can make the move permanent for €7 million next summer.

A source at Aneke Player Management Group, who brokered the move, confirmed the developments, as they exclusively spoke to Footy-Africa.

“This is the perfect project for Faris. Cremonese didn’t just want another striker, they wanted him, and they fought to bring him in. Faris is ready to explode in Serie A. He has the hunger, the power, and the mentality to make a real impact. After a difficult spell at Marseille, this fresh start will show his true potential,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Fresh off their return to Serie A, Cremonese have been searching for a proven finisher to lead their survival bid, and see Moumbagna as the answer. The club’s management made the Cameroonian their top priority, convinced he can thrive in the Italian game.

Signed by Olympique Marseille from Bodø/Glimt in 2024, Moumbagna struggled to settle in France. Now, Cremona offers him the platform to relaunch his career, and prove himself on one of Europe’s biggest stages.

Across two seasons at Olympique Marseille, the striker scored just two goals in 24 matches.  At Bodø/Glimt, Moumbagna, whose Transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €5 million, netted 24 goals and provided six assists in 50 appearances.
