Ghana is a top footballing nation in Africa and has always lived up to its history of producing top talents that have gone ahead to play and make an impact at some of the biggest clubs in the world.

In recent times, the demand for Ghanaian players has continued to increase across the top leagues in the world and the pattern looks set to continue with uncertainty surrounding the future of several of the nationโ€™s biggest players, which could pave way for more high-profile transfers.

This article highlights five Ghanaian players who look set for a transfer once the 2026 summer transfer window opens.

Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey represents one of the biggest Ghanaian footballers in Europe at the moment, but faces an uncertain future heading into the summer at Villarreal. The 32-year-old previously spent five years at Premier League giants Arsenal, but left last summer and could be on the move again after one year.

Parteyโ€™s return to Spain has not gone as planned, with the midfielder troubled by rape allegations during his time in England which has continued to overshadow his importance on the pitch.

It looks increasingly unlikely that Villarreal would offer him an extension on the one-year deal he signed, paving the way for a potential exit at the end of the season.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also joins Partey on this list as he could exit Championship club Leicester City after three years.

The 22-year-old has been a standout performer and has scored nine goals and provided seven assists this season, attracting interest from several top clubs, including Italian champions Napoli.

With Leicester City battling relegation in the Championship this season after they were docked six points earlier in the campaign, Fatawu could be on his way out of the club at the end of the campaign despite having three years left on his current deal.

Emmanuel Addai

Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Addai currently plays at Qarabag but has been tipped with a high-profile move to the major European leagues, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and no extension agreed so far.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for the Azerbaijan club, but interest from bigger clubs in Europe would not be easy to turn down, especially since he would be available on a free transfer.

Carlos Yirenkyi

Carlos Yirenkyi has emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe ahead of the summer transfer window. Several Premier League clubs have expressed their interest, including the likes of Arsenal, Bournemouth and Brighton.

The 20-year-old has been tipped to leave the Danish league this summer, with Brighton tipped as the favourites to land his signature as they look to replace Carlos Baleba, who could be on his way out of the club as well this summer.

Andre Ayew

Ghanaian captain Andre Ayew will be out of contract at NAC Breda at the end of the season and could also be set for a transfer to another club during the summer transfer window.

The 36-year-old only joined the club in January on a free transfer until the end of the season, looking to keep in shape for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

However, he could leave the Dutch club after his contract runs up and prepare for a new chapter in his career elsewhere.
