Czech First League side FK Pardubice have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Mahanaim FC’s rising star Usama Shuaibu, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The highly-regarded forward, widely considered one of the most clinical prospects in the Nigerian academy circuit, has been a subject of intense scouting from several European outfits.
However, Pardubice have moved decisively, leapfrogging the competition by initiating formal contact with the Abuja-based academy.
Trial underway in Czechia
Sources close to the negotiations have informed Footy-Africa that Shuaibu has already arrived in the Czech Republic.
The youngster is currently undergoing a multi-week trial period as the club’s technical staff evaluates his readiness for the European game.
Insiders remain highly optimistic that a permanent deal is on the horizon. If terms are finalized as expected, Shuaibu will initially integrated into the club’s prestigious youth system.
Development path
Should the transfer be completed, the Nigerian starlet is slated to bolster Pardubice’s squad in the Celostátní dorostenecká liga U-18.
The move represents a significant step for Shuaibu, offering a proven pathway into the Czech top flight. For FK Pardubice, securing a talent of Shuaibu’s caliber underscores their commitment to mining the Nigerian market for elite young talent.
