Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has made headlines once again after announcing that he will leave Premier League champions Liverpool at the end of the season, bringing an end to his remarkable nine-year stay at the club.

The 33-year-old joined the Reds back in 2017 from Italian side AS Roma and went on to enjoy a very successful period at the club. During his time on Merseyside, Salah played a crucial role in delivering multiple trophies, consistently producing record-breaking performances.

Salah has scored 255 goals for the club so far from 436 appearances and has won the Premier League golden boot a joint-record four times alongside Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. He also played a major role last season when he guided Liverpool to a record-equaling 20th English top flight title.

However, his form has dipped this season, and he was involved in a public row with the club earlier in the campaign. Despite signing a two-year extension just last year, both parties have now agreed to terminate his contract.

With Salah set to become a free agent this summer, several clubs are already lining up for his signature.

Here are four possible destinations for the Egyptian superstar.

Al Ittihad (Saudi Arabia)

Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad have long admired Salah and may finally get their chance to sign him. The Saudi champions previously had a £150 million bid rejected by Liverpool in 2023, but now have a very big opportunity to land him this time around.

With Karim Benzema having left for rivals Al Hilal in January, Salah could arrive as the club’s new marquee star, backed by a lucrative contract.

Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia)

Al Hilal are another club from the Saudi Pro League keen on the signature of Salah and are willing to offload Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo to Liverpool to free up space in the squad.

The Saudi giants added Karim Benzema during the winter transfer window and signing Salah would offer real statement of intent ahead of next season as they look to mount a serious challenge in the league and also on the continent.

Inter Miami (United States)

2025 MLS Cup winners Inter Miami have also shown interest in adding Mohamed Salah to their ranks in the summer and could provide another potential destination for the Egyptian.

The David Beckham owned club already have the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the team and adding Salah would make their frontline very formidable and send a real warning to their league rivals.

Galatasaray (Turkey)

Galatasaray have also shown interest in signing Salah in the past and could make a serious move this summer.

The Turkish champions are eager to strengthen their squad as they aim to compete more strongly in Europe after recent domestic success and Salah’s addition would significantly boost their attacking firepower.
