Norwegian-born Nigerian winger Obilor Denzel Okeke has signed four-and-a-half-year contract with Swedish side Hammarby, according to the club’s official announcement.

Last three seasons the 23-year-old player spent with KFUM Oslo, scoring 13 goals and making 12 assists in 60 games across all domestic competitions in Norway.

“In Obi we get an offensive player with a clear edge in his speed and deep play that will contribute to competition and qualities that the team needs. Despite his age, he is already established in Scandinavian football and we are really looking forward to welcoming him to the Hammarby family,” sports director Mikael Hjelmberg explained.

Okeke started playing football in Bærumsløkka outside the Norwegian capital. His senior career began in Skeid, and via Asker and Fredrikstad he came to KFUM Oslo in 2023.

“I have heard a lot of good things about the club, the supporters and the group of players. I am looking forward to being a part of this. I play with passion and feeling, I like to both assist and score goals. You get a player who wants the best for the club and I hope to contribute to success,” Okeke noted.
