Hertha BSC of Germany, Brazilian side Fortaleza Esporte Clube and Sweden’s Vasteras have shown initial interest in Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare as his representatives work to secure a move to Europe, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
Asare has returned to training with Hearts of Oak following Ghana’s participation at the FIFA World Cup, but the intention remains for the goalkeeper to leave the club before the close of the transfer window.
Sources have told Footy-Africa that his agent is actively working on securing a European destination for the 30-year-old, with several clubs having made initial enquiries about his availability.
Hertha BSC, Fortaleza and Vasteras are among the clubs to have shown basic interest, although no concrete offer has been submitted for his services at this stage.

Asare’s performances at the World Cup have increased interest in his situation, particularly after he kept a clean sheet against England.
Footy-Africa can report that his representatives are prioritising a move to Europe, despite contacts made with Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Ittihad, Al-Kholood, Al-Qadsiah and Diriyah SC.
Asare remains under contract with Hearts of Oak after signing a new deal with the Ghanaian giants in 2024.
The goalkeeper had rejected an offer from a club in Djibouti before extending his stay with Hearts of Oak until 2027. His contract also includes an option for a further year, giving Hearts of Oak a strong negotiating position should concrete offers arrive.
With interest beginning to emerge following his World Cup performances, Asare’s representatives are expected to continue discussions with European clubs as they seek to secure a move abroad for the goalkeeper.
