Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo had lucrative offers from Libya and Egyptian giants Al Ahly before agreeing personal terms with Turkish Super Lig side Gençlerbirliği, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
An unnamed Libyan club offered Sibo a four-year package worth $10 million, including a $2 million signing-on fee.
The 28-year-old carefully considered the proposal but ultimately decided against the move, with his international career playing a major role in his decision.
Sibo also had an offer from Al Ahly worth $1.5 million per year on a two-year contract, with an option for an additional year if both parties were satisfied.
The Ghanaian considered the Egyptian giants’ proposal as well, but felt that moving to either Libya or Egypt could affect his chances of establishing himself as a regular member of the Black Stars.
Instead, Sibo has agreed personal terms with Gençlerbirliği and is now leaning towards completing the move to Turkey.

Footy-Africa can exclusively report that the proposed agreement is a two-year contract with an option to extend for a further year, with a financial package worth around €1 million per year.
A source close to the situation has told Footy-Africa that personal terms have been agreed and Sibo is awaiting confirmation of the agreement, with the move expected to go through barring any last-minute hitches.
Sibo had initially pushed for improved terms after the first proposal was presented, but negotiations have now progressed to the point where an agreement has been reached.
The midfielder had attracted interest from several clubs following his departure from Real Oviedo, including West Ham, Hull City and French side Lorient, while Greek champions PAOK had also been monitoring his situation.
Gençlerbirliği eventually moved ahead of the competition, with Sibo preferring the Turkish Super Lig as he believes it offers him a stronger platform to compete for a regular place in the Ghana national team.
Sibo is a free agent following his departure from Real Oviedo, where he spent the last two seasons and made 26 league appearances while helping the Spanish club secure promotion to LaLiga.
