West Ham United have entered the race to sign Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo after being offered the chance to sign the free agent, while interest from Saudi Arabia is also growing, Footy-Africa can confirm.
Sources close to the player say the Premier League club have been presented with Sibo as they continue to explore cost-effective additions before the transfer window closes.
The 28-year-old is regarded as an experienced defensive midfielder capable of adding depth, with his ball-winning ability, positional discipline and ability to shield the back four making him an attractive option.
Hull City and French side Lorient remain interested in the Ghanaian, while Greek champions PAOK have fallen behind in the race for his signature.
Footy-Africa understands that Sibo’s family have encouraged him to seriously consider offers from Saudi Arabia, believing a move to the Gulf would provide long-term financial security.
However, the player has yet to make a final decision, with the opportunity to play in the Premier League also appealing.
Sibo spent the last two seasons at Real Oviedo, where he made 26 league appearances and helped the Spanish club secure promotion to LaLiga.
Despite his contribution, he opted against extending his contract, making him one of the most sought-after free agents on the market.
