Gambian talent Modou Lamin Fofana has officially signed with Swedish third-tier club Nordic United FC on a season-long loan from BST Galaxy FC. The deal, which includes an option to make the move permanent, marks a significant step in the young forward’s career as he ventures into European football for the first time.

The deak was finalized on the last day of the transfer window, following weeks of negotiations and persistent interest from the Swedish side.

Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa on the move, BST Galaxy’s Second Vice President, Omar Jarju, expressed pride in Fofana’s progression and the hard work that led to the agreement.

“Through hard work and dedication, both on his part and the collaboration of Nordic, this deal was made possible,” Jarju said. “They’ve been following his progress with BST for the past seasons. This deal was sealed on the last day of the window after numerous calls and meetings between the two clubs.”

Fofana, who has been a standout performer in the Gambian Premier League, now gets the opportunity to test himself in a new footballing environment. Jarju believes the young star is in the right place to grow and unlock his full potential.

“It is a great opportunity for him to grow and develop as a footballer. Both the management and the coaching staff of Nordic love him, and I’m sure he is in a conducive environment to develop as a young player,” he added.

“He is super talented and with extra hard work and dedication, I see him steadily improving in his career and reaching new heights.”

BST Galaxy FC, one of the most proactive clubs in The Gambia when it comes to player development, continues to build a strong reputation for nurturing young talent and exporting them to professional levels abroad.

Jarju emphasised the club’s long-term commitment to youth development and international exposure.

“Our focus as a football club is to continue providing a supportive and nurturing environment for young players to thrive and reach their full potential. Our project is in its third year now, and we want to make sure more players are developed and prepared to play professional football,” he said.

Ranked as the second-highest exporting club in The Gambia, BST Galaxy has quickly become a launchpad for future stars like Fofana, reflecting the country’s growing reputation as a hub for emerging football talent.

As Fofana embarks on this new chapter in Sweden, both clubs will be closely monitoring his development, with hopes that this move could pave the way for a long-term European career.
