Gambian youngster Muhammed Lamin Drammeh has officially committed his future to Italian Serie C side Catania after signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa after signing his new deal, Drammeh expressed his excitement about extending his stay and reflected on the opportunities he has already received at the club.
“I went to the first team to train with them several times last season. It gives me opportunities and experience.”
Looking ahead, the youngster said he is determined to continue working hard as he pursues his dream of breaking into the senior squad.
“Now, I’m so excited. I should give everything for my development as this is just the beginning.”
The contract extension is a significant vote of confidence from the Italian club, rewarding the teenager for his impressive progress since signing his first professional contract with Catania in August 2025.
Since joining the Sicilian outfit, Drammeh has featured prominently for the club’s Under-17 side, where he has continued to develop into one of the academy’s promising prospects. During the 2025/26 campaign, he scored three goals and provided five assists while consistently delivering strong performances.
His development did not go unnoticed by the club’s technical staff, earning him several opportunities to train with Catania’s senior team throughout last season. The experience provided the young Gambian with valuable exposure to the demands of professional football and further accelerated his growth.
The next phase of Drammeh’s development will begin immediately, with the young midfielder set to join Catania’s first team for pre-season training. The opportunity will allow him to work closely with the senior squad and coaching staff while continuing to gain invaluable experience ahead of the new campaign.
