Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Pisa Sporting Club from Inter Milan, with only final formalities remaining, sources have exclusively told Footy-Africa.

The 21-year-old spent the 2025–26 campaign on loan at Pisa and emerged as one of the club’s most consistent performers in midfield. His displays included a standout Man of the Match showing against ACF Fiorentina, underlining his growing influence.

Akinsanmiro’s form also earned him a call-up to the Nigeria national football team squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, although he featured sparingly during the tournament.

Pisa have now moved to activate the purchase option included in the original loan agreement. However, Inter have safeguarded their long-term interest by inserting a buy-back clause, allowing the Serie A side to retain a degree of control over the player’s future.

Footy-Africa understands that the deal is close to completion, with Akinsanmiro expected to sign a contract running until 2030. Also, Pisa head coach Oscar Hiljemark is a strong admirer and views the midfielder as central to the club’s long-term project.

Akinsanmiro’s former club Beyond Limits Football Academy are also set to benefit financially, owing to a sell-on clause negotiated when he joined Inter.

The move comes at a challenging time for Pisa, who have been relegated to Serie B following a 2–1 home defeat by U.S. Lecce with three games still to play. Should the transfer be finalised, Akinsanmiro is expected to play a key role in their push for an immediate return to the Italian top flight.
