Nigerian winger Miracle Okoroakpa has completed a move to Finnish club Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK) from Abia State-based Right2Win Sports Club on a three-year deal.
“He is a quick forward who can play as a winger and loves to take on his opponents, which is what the club were looking for,” Kelechi Nnorom, owner of Right2Win, exclusively told Footy-Africa. “I am happy for him, and I believe the future is bright for the player, as he has shown that he is determined and focused, the same way he was with us.”
“Miracle is one of the players you love to sit and watch, because he makes things happen. He even scored on Sunday in his first game for the second team, who play in the second division. It’s just a matter of time before he makes his first-team debut, once he is registered,” he added.
Okoroakpa’s performances at Right2Win SC earned him the opportunity to showcase his talent to European scouts. The player, who can also operate as a forward, caught the attention of SJK officials during a scouting and trial tournament in Nigeria, organised in partnership with Chidex FC.
His performances during the tournament convinced the Finnish club to offer him a move, allowing the youngster to continue his development in Europe.
The 20-year-old is expected to feature for SJK Akatemia, the club’s reserve team, which competes in the Ykkösliiga, Finland’s second tier. SJK’s senior side currently compete in the Veikkausliiga, the country’s top flight, giving Okoroakpa a potential pathway to higher-level football as he adapts to his new surroundings.
The move to Seinäjoki, in Western Finland, represents a significant opportunity for the Nigerian attacker to gain valuable European experience and continue his progress.
With his pace, versatility and attacking qualities, Okoroakpa will be hoping to make a strong impression in Finland and work his way towards the club’s first team.
