Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on FC Porto forward Samu Aghehowa as the Spanish striker of Nigerian descent continues to impress in Portugal, TBR reports.
The 21-year-old has been in outstanding form at the Estádio do Dragão, scoring 35 goals in 54 appearances since joining from Atlético Madrid. His performances have reportedly attracted renewed attention from Spurs, who are assessing potential attacking options ahead of future transfer windows.
Aghehowa came close to joining Chelsea in 2024 before the deal collapsed late on, with the London club instead securing the loan of João Félix.
Fabio Paratici, who recently returned to a role advising Tottenham’s football operations, is understood to be a long-time admirer of Aghehowa. Sources suggest he has placed the striker on the club’s list of targets as they plan for the next stage of squad development under Thomas Frank.

Although Aghehowa’s contract includes a £87m release clause, Porto’s financial situation could make a deal possible for a lower fee.
Tottenham currently boast several attacking options, though Richarlison’s inconsistency, Dominic Solanke’s injury issues and Mathys Tel’s inexperience have prompted the club to consider further reinforcement.
Newcastle United were also interested in Aghehowa earlier in the year, but ultimately chose to sign Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade instead.
Aghehowa has started the new season strongly, finding the net eight times in nine matches, and his form has earned him a call-up to Spain’s latest international squad.
