Turkish Super League outfit Trabzonspor have made initial inquiries on the availability of Göztepe FC star and Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis for a possible transfer in the ongoing window, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm

Dennis has drawn attention in the transfer window with earlier links to Belgian giants Anderlecht FC taking center stage, albeit, with no agreement reached. The 21-year-old has opened doors to an exit, should a bigger team strike a deal with Göztepe. His contract with the latter is still on until June 2027.

An exclusive source at Elite Project Group, who represent the player’s business and management, has revealed to Footy-Africa that Trabzonspor are the latest side to express interest and make formal approaches for the young midfielder, widely regarded as the future of Nigerian football.

“Trabzonspor made a formal inquiry with Göztepe on Friday for Anthony (Dennis) and we were instantly informed about it. Götzepe are open to a sale should any interested party raise their €5 million demand. The player is also open to a switch, but like the case has been in the past weeks, he won’t force a move out, as he’s happy at the club. It’s very early stages, as talks between the clubs are expected to proceed in the coming days,” the exclusively revealed to Footy-Africa.

Anderlecht Prepare €4.5M Bid for Goztepe Midfielder Anthony Dennis

Last campaign, the defensive midfielder made 37 appearances, chipping in with two assists. In the 2023/24 season, he made 15 appearances, scoring once. He joined their youth team from HB Abuja in Nigeria, and his trajectory has continued to elevate with every match he plays.

Meanwhile, at the international stage, Dennis, whose transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €4 million, received his first call to the senior team this year. However, he has yet to be handed the much-needed cap in the coveted shirt.
