The 2026 summer transfer window will officially close today in most of Europe’s top leagues, although the deadline extends for a few more days in some other leagues.

Several African footballers have completed moves during the window in search of new challenges, while others have attracted interest following impressive performances. However, a number of players are still facing uncertain futures with only a few hours left before the deadline.

Here are five African players who could still make a move before the transfer window closes.

Femi Azeez

Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez could leave Millwall before the end of the transfer window, with Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion intensifying their efforts to sign him.

The two-cap Nigerian star shone for the Lions last season and was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.

He has also expressed desire to play in the English top flight and would be open to a move once Millwall’s valuation are met.

Iliman Ndiaye

Senegalese forward Iliman Ndiaye’s future has been uncertain all summer, and he could still end up leaving Everton before the transfer window closes.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, while Arsenal have also joined the race to sign him away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With the window entering its final few hours, Ndiaye’s future remains one to keep an eye on as new development on his next move unfolds.

Pape Matar Sarr

Tottenham Hotspur and Senegalese midfielder also appears on this list with his future unresolved as the transfer window in England comes to a conclusion.

Spurs have already bolstered their midfield with the additions of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes and are also working on adding a new name to the midfield.

This has increased competition for places and has cast doubts over Pape Matar Sarr’s long-term role at the club. Galatasaray are the club with the most interest, although it remains to be seen if they step up their efforts.

Ismaila Sarr

Another Senegalese player on this list, Ismaila Sarr could be on his way out of Crystal Palace before the transfer window closes with interest growing from Turkish champions Galatasaray.

The 2025-26 UEFA Conference League Player of the Season has missed the Eagles’ Premier League games so far this season and despite reports of an injury, he could join a new club before the window closes.

Olisa Ndah

Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah completes this list as he is closing in on a move to the Libyan Premier League.

The former Orlando Pirates defender featured for Stellenbosch during the second half of last season, as he continues his way to revive his career.

The 28-year-old was previously linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns although the move later fell through due to the foreign player quota.
