Uganda Cranes midfielder Travis Mutyaba will remain at Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien after the club turned down a €400,000 offer from Algerian side Paradou AC, while a proposed move to the Middle East also collapsed at the final stage, according to his agent Dennis Namanya who exclusively spoke with Footy-Africa.
Namanya confirmed exclusively to Footy-Africa, that despite strong interest in the 20-year-old playmaker, CS Sfaxien have made it clear they want to keep the Ugandan international as part of their plans for the new season.
“Travis is staying at CS Sfaxien. The club rejected a €400,000 offer from Algeria’s Paradou because they believe he is an important player for their project. There was also serious interest from the Middle East and everything looked set, but the move collapsed at the final moments. Right now, Travis is fully focused on CS Sfaxien, working hard and looking forward to a strong season. The club has shown confidence in him and he is determined to repay that faith with his performances.”
Mutyaba joined the Tunisian heavyweights in July 2025 on a three-year contract after leaving French side Bordeaux, where he spent a season following an earlier loan spell at Egyptian giants Zamalek.
The gifted attacking midfielder first rose to prominence at SC Villa after developing through the Vipers SC junior ranks and has since established himself as one of Uganda’s brightest talents.
The former CECAFA U-17 Most Valuable Player has continued his development in Tunisia, attracting interest from clubs across North Africa and the Middle East thanks to his creativity, close control and versatility in attacking midfield.
However, CS Sfaxien’s decision to reject Paradou’s bid underlines the club’s determination to retain one of its prized assets ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
