Fresh reports linking Yankuba Minteh with a potential move to Liverpool have emerged, with Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly rejecting a ยฃ50 million offer for the winger identified as a concrete target by the Premier League giants.
However, sources close to the Gambian international have strongly rejected the latest reports, dismissing the claims as “old news” casting doubt on suggestions that Liverpool are actively pursuing the 22-year-old.
Minteh has been heavily linked with a move away from Brighton this summer, with Liverpool repeatedly mentioned among the clubs monitoring his situation. The wingerโs performances last season helped strengthen his reputation as one of the Premier Leagueโs most exciting young attacking talents.
The Gambian made 26 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing four assists as Brighton secured a place in the European play-offs.
Liverpool make initial contact for Yankuba Minteh ahead of summer transfer window
Known for his explosive pace, dribbling ability, attacking directness and willingness to contribute defensively, Minteh has attracted considerable attention from top clubs across Europe.
However, his current situation has become more complicated after the winger suffered a leg injury during pre-season, which is expected to keep him sidelined for approximately two to three months. The setback could make it more difficult for a major transfer to materialise before the end of the summer window.
Despite the injury and the latest denial from his close associates, a departure from Brighton has not been completely ruled out. With the final weeks of the transfer window approaching, Mintehโs future remains one of the situations to watch closely.
