Spanish Segunda division outfit Real Zaragoza sealed a permanent deal to acquire the services of Ghanaian midfielder Yussif Saidu earlier this week.
The youngster had initially joined the club youth team on a season-long deal in the summer transfer window in 2024 from Accra-based club Dansoman Wise XI, but did not make his debut for the side until January 2025, due to some difficulties in registration.
Real Zaragoza then agreed a new loan deal worth about €35,000 with the Ghanaian club in June for the 20-year-old, who was then promoted to the first team after his impressive cameo at the youth level.
Yussif Saidu has now penned a five-year deal at the club, that potentially keeps him at the club until 2030, after the Spanish club rewarded him for a brilliant start to the season by activating the permanent buy option of around €120,000 which was available in the transfer clause.
Transfer fee and contract details
Real Zaragoza paid an initial €35,000 loan fee to Dansoman Wise Xi and have now exercised the option to purchase the exciting youngster on a permanent basis for about €120,000.
Los Blanquillos have acted quickly in wrapping up a permanent deal for the 20-year-old, shutting down any potential departure to another club.
Yussif Saidu has featured in nine of Real Zaragoza’s 11 league matches this season, proving his value to the team with his versatility, as he can play in midfield and can also deputize in the center-back role.

Salary breakdown
Yussif Saidu has received a significant pay rise and will earn about €100.79 weekly, amounting to about €5,241 on an annual basis.
The 20-year-old will receive over €26,205 in wages over the course of the five years he is projected to spend at the Spanish club.
Real Zaragoza’s total investment in his signature could exceed €180,000 including transfer fees, making him one of the club’s most valuable additions in recent years.
From Accra to Zaragoza
Yussif Saidu began his career in Accra with Dansoman Wise XI, before joining the Real Zaragoza youth ranks after impressing the scouts. The midfielder then earned promotion to the club’s first team after continuing his stellar displays.
The Ghanaian is set to embrace the new challenge, as he hopes to play an important role in his side’s push for promotion to the top-flight for the first time since 2013.
