Discussions are ongoing regarding a potential departure of Nigerian international Frank Onyeka from Premier League side Brentford, Footy-Africa can confirm.

A reliable source disclosed to Footy-Africa that Onyeka is likely to leave during the current winter transfer window due to lack of the playing time which is the main issue. While the possibility of a move is high, the situation remains open.

Reports in the English media have claimed that Coventry City are leading the race for his signature. However, the source revealed that other clubs are actively exploring the option of signing the midfielder, and a final decision has yet to be made. Onyeka is said to be carefully evaluating all available options before deciding what is best for his career.
The 28-year-old has been linked with several English clubs, including Coventry City, Sheffield United, and Birmingham City. Spanish La Liga side Valencia, as well as a club in Germany, have also been credited with interest in the player.
The midfielder has struggled to secure consistent playing time since joining Brentford. He spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side Augsburg, but his situation has not improved this campaign under new manager Andrew Keith, who replaced Thomas Frank.
Brentford are also open to allowing Onyeka leave during the January transfer window.
So far this season, Onyeka has made just six appearances in all competitions for the Bees and has been omitted from the matchday squad on several occasions. Since joining Brentford, Onyeka has made 75 Premier League appearances across five seasons.
