Former Nigeria forward Emmanuel Okoduwa is over the moon after Coventry City secured promotion to the Premier League.
In an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa Okoduwa expressed his excitement because Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka is also part of the team and featured for 82 minutes in Coventryโs last game, which mathematically guaranteed them a place in the Premier League next season.
Onyeka, 28, made a loan move to the Championship side, and part of the deal that took him to the Coventry Building Society Arena was that he would earn a permanent transfer if the club gained promotion.

It is highly unlikely Brentford will block the move, and Onyeka has always insisted he wants to remain in England after a previous loan spell at Augsburg.
“I have been keenly following the Championship since Frank (Onyeka) joined the team, and I am happy with his progress,” the former Nigeria U-23 forward exclusively told Footy-Africa.
“So now, seeing him help push the club back to the Premier League is a good thing. He has been a good signing for them since he joined, and I am glad he will have another crack at the Premier League. I also just found out that he will stay with the club if they gain promotion, and I hope that is the case, as a permanent transfer to the club will be good for him.”
“A lot of people were not happy he took a step down to find more playing time, but look at how well it has turned out. I am happy for him and the club, as well as the coach Frank Lampard, who is someone I admire a lot,” he added.
