Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has joined Sheffield United after completing his medical, with the Championship club set to officially announce his signing on Tuesday.
Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal that Ayew has agreed a contract with Sheffield United until the end of the season, with clauses in the deal that could see his stay extended.
Footy-Africa had initially reported that Ayew had reached an agreement with Sheffield United after the club made a late move for the free agent.
The agreement came after talks with Blackburn Rovers had reached an advanced stage but ultimately collapsed, with the proposed move understood to be around 90 percent off before Sheffield United stepped in.

Sheffield United’s late approach allowed Ayew to remain in English football, with the club moving quickly to reach an agreement with the Ghana international.
The club initially faced a squad registration issue and needed to create space for the forward.
That obstacle has now been resolved, with Nils Zatterstrom set to join Polish club Raków Częstochowa, freeing up a place in Sheffield United’s squad.
Ayew has now completed his medical and is expected to be officially unveiled by Sheffield United on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old adds experience and versatility to Chris Wilder’s attack as the club look to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.
Ayew has spent much of his career in English football, representing Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

He has also earned 122 caps for Ghana and scored 33 goals for the Black Stars.
The initial agreement runs until the end of the season, but clauses in the contract could allow Ayew to extend his stay at the club.
