A little over a year after arriving to Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Nigerian centre-back Gabriel Osho is getting ready to leave Auxerre in order to join Cardiff City, a club in League One, the English third-tear Division, L’Equipe confirms.

According to the report, the 27-year-old is to sign a four-year contract with the Welsh club, that was relegated from the EFL Championship. Osho has already cleared his locker at Cardiff City Stadium.

Gabriel Osho’s spell in the Auxerre lasted just over a season, after he arrived on a free transfer from Luton Town in the summer of 2024.

Osho, who was still a starter for Auxerre in the first matches of the season in Ligue 1, against Lorient (1-0) and then against Nice (1-3), is coming off a season in which he made 21 appearances, all as a starter.

His performances opened the doors to the Nigerian national team last November, when he played two African Cup of Nations qualifiers with the Super Eagles.

His current Transfermarkt value is estimated at €3 million.
