Tolu Arokodare (Wolves)

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare headlines the list of Nigerian players who made the switch to the EPL this summer, when he secured a move from Genk to Wolves on transfer deadline day for a fee of around £23.4 million.

The 24-year-old achieved impressive feats in Belgium and while it might be difficult to repeat the same, the 6 ft 6 striker will be looking to make an impact with his new side in the league this season.

Samuel Chukwueze (Fulham)

Samuel Chukwueze joined the duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at Fulham, after he completed a transfer deadline day move to the Cottagers from AC Milan. The Nigerian forward joined the club on a season-long loan deal, which includes an option to join permanently next summer.

The winger failed to live up to the hype at the Italian club, but will hope his physicality and pace can help him adapt quickly to the demands of the EPL.

Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)

The right-back Ola Aina was one of the most consistent performers in the EPL last season and was influential in his side’s qualification for the UEFA Europa League this season. Aina quelled exit rumors with a new-three year deal in the summer, committing his future to the club.

The Nigerian defender featured in the Tricky Trees’ first three league matches of the season, before an injury during the last international break ruled him out of their defeat at Arsenal last weekend.

Christantus Uche (Getafe)

Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche also completed a dream move to the EPL this summer, when he joined Crystal Palace from Spanish side Getafe. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable rise in his career and will hope to continue his upward trajectory at the Eagles.

He made his debut against Sunderland last weekend and will hope to fill the huge void left by England international Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal in the summer.

Calvin Bassey (Fulham)

Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey has developed into one of the best defenders in the EPL and was named Fulham’s player of the season for the 2024/25 campaign, a reward for his consistent performances.

The 25-year-old has played every minute of the Cottagers’ league matches this season and will be looking to lead them to an European spot this season, after they narrowly missed out last campaign.
