Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur head into this clash on the back of a disappointing result in their last encounter against Chelsea. The Europa League winners delivered a lacklustre showing as they were beaten 1-0 by the FIFA Club World Cup winners.

However, there has been improvement in the side since the arrival of Thomas Frank in the summer, with the team currently sixth on the EPL standings, although they are level on points as the Red Devils (17).

Manchester United, meanwhile, were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Nottingham Forest in their last outing, ending their winning streak. The 20-time league champions have improved under their Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim and have moved up to eighth in the standings, bouncing back from a poor start to the season.

The Red Devils finished 15th last season following a dismal campaign and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run, although they face a Spurs side that defeated them four times in the 2024-25 campaign.

  • 14.01.2024 – Man United 2-2 Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have dominated this encounter in recent outings and are currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak against Manchester United.

They are also unbeaten in their last four home matches against the Red Devils, and they were victorious in all four encounters last season, including in the UEFA Europa League final.

Recent Form: Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have been poor in recent outings, winning just one of their last five matches in all competitions. They also suffered three defeats in that period, including in their last two.

Spurs are also winless in their last three home matches in the league, while they have lost the last two.

Recent Form: Manchester United

Man United have improved in recent outings and are currently on a four-game unbeaten streak, winning three of those games.

The Red Devils have only won one of their five matches on the road this season, and they have not kept a clean sheet away from home in all competitions.

Player to Watch: Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United)

Cameroon winger Bryan Mbeumo has been one of the best performers in the league since moving to Old Trafford in the summer.

The 26-year-old has five goal contributions in 10 league games and could cause problems for the Spurs backline with his pace and dribbling ability.

Away (Manchester United) to Win or Draw – 1.48 (via 1xBet)

Prediction

Manchester United are the in-form team and with their quality and fluid attack, they should pose enough problems for Spurs to secure a positive result.
