Turkish Super League outfit Besiktas are reportedly interested in completing a deal in the January transfer window for Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou.

The Black Eagles have identified the Ivory Coast defender as a top defensive reinforcement as they look to improve a backline that has already conceded 22 goals so far after 16 matches in the league, the second-highest tally among the top 10 sides, and also aid their push for an European spot.

The 28-year-old joined Wolves from French side Reims in January for around £16.6 million during the club’s relegation fight and quickly established himself as a key figure, missing just two matches as he helped secure survival in the 2024–25 season, with the team finishing 16th.

The former Reims defender has also played 13 times in the league this season for the West Midlands Club, who are rooted to the bottom of the English Premier League standings after a winless start to the new season.

Emmanuel Agbadou is naturally a center-back, but can also deputize excellently in the defensive midfield role, providing the manager an option with his versatility and also bringing valuable experience to the team.

How much will Emmanuel Agbadou cost Besiktas?

Per Transfermarkt, Emmanuel Agbadou is currently worth around €18 million, which places him as the 10th most valuable Ivorian footballer and the seventh most valuable footballer at Wolves.

However, securing the defender would require a fee exceeding £20 million, as he still has over three years remaining on his contract with the English club.

Per Capology, the Ivorian defender currently earns around £106,250 per week which amounts to an annual salary of about £5.25 million, making him the third-highest earner at the club. Besiktas total investments in his signing, including transfer fees and wages, could surpass £45 million, making him a major investment for the club.

Securing a deal in January could be tough, although the defender’s wealth of experience and availability would be a key asset in the club’s push for a return to Europe.
