Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh is on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli after the club reached a full agreement with Tromsø IL on a deal worth €7 million, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.

The agreement will make Kinteh the most expensive player ever sold by the Norwegian club, setting a new transfer record in Tromsø’s history.

Al Ahli have also successfully concluded negotiations with the player’s agent, Cherno Samba, over personal terms. The 19-year-old Gambian center-back is set to earn an annual salary of $4 million under a five-year contract valued at a total of $20 million, Footy-Africa can confirm.

The move represents a remarkable rise for Kinteh, who joined Tromsø IL in March 2025 and quickly established himself as one of the club’s most important players. Since arriving in Norway, he has made 33 appearances and attracted widespread interest from clubs across Europe.

Kinteh’s move to FC Köln hinges, Leeds and Saudi Arabian giants still in the race

His impressive performances and rapid development have seen him linked with several teams from some of the world’s most competitive leagues, including the English Premier League and the German Bundesliga. However, it is Al Ahli who have won the race for his signature with a package that proved too good for both club and player to refuse.

The transfer is expected to be finalized in the coming days, marking a significant milestone in Kinteh’s career and another major success story for Gambian football on the international stage.
