Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh’s potential transfer to German Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln remains dependent on the club’s ability to complete a significant outgoing transfer in the coming weeks, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
The newly promoted Bundesliga outfit is expected to return with an improved offer worth €6 million after seeing their initial bid rejected by Norwegian side Tromsø IL.

Despite the temporary delay, Köln remain keen on securing Kinteh’s signature as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign. The 19-year-old center-back has emerged as one of the most promising young defenders in Scandinavian football and has attracted attention from several clubs across Europe and beyond.
Saudi Arabian giants Al Ahli remain firmly in the race and continue to monitor the situation closely. The club is understood to be maintaining strong interest in the youngster, while English side Leeds United have recently joined the list of admirers, adding further competition for his services.
Kinteh has enjoyed an impressive rise since joining Tromsø IL in March 2025. Since his arrival in Norway, he has made 33 appearances for the club and established himself as a key figure in their defensive setup.
The young defender has featured in nine matches so far in the 2026 Norwegian Eliteserien season, starting seven of those encounters. His performances have continued to earn praise for his composure, physical presence, and maturity beyond his years.
