German Bundesliga side FC Köln have seen their opening offer for Gambian youngster Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh rejected by Norwegian club Tromsø IL as interest in the highly-rated teenager continues to grow ahead of the summer transfer window, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Köln’s first proposal for the 19-year-old was reportedly worth around €5 million, but Tromsø are understood to be holding out for a higher fee as they anticipate more offers arriving in the coming days.
The Norwegian side value the young Gambian highly and believe his market price could rise further due to increasing attention from clubs abroad.

Despite the setback, Köln remain determined to secure the midfielder’s signature and are expected to return with an improved offer within the next couple of days in an attempt to convince Tromsø to sell.
The Bundesliga club views Kinteh as a long-term investment and one of the emerging African talents capable of developing into a key player in Europe.

Interest in Kinteh has intensified following his impressive rise, with his performances continuing to attract scouts from several leagues. However, according to the player’s representatives, only two clubs have made concrete approaches so far — Köln and Saudi Arabian giants Al Ahli Saudi FC.
The teenager’s future is now expected to become one of the notable transfer stories involving Gambian players this summer, as negotiations continue and more developments are anticipated in the coming days.
