Nigerian international Olisa Ndah is likely to leave South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) after five years, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.

Ndah is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Stellenbosch FC at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Speculation has continued to surround the defender’s future, with his representative, Mike Makaab, previously revealing that the player had attracted interest from clubs both within South Africa and abroad.

Speaking to various media outlets in recent weeks, Makaab confirmed that Ndah had received offers from PSL clubs as well as teams outside the country.

“Ndah is free. We will look at opportunities for him within the borders of South Africa and outside. Again, there is interest in the Middle East. My only concern about the Middle East is the instability of the territory at the moment.”

“We are looking outside South Africa and within the borders and, again, we are confident that within the next couple of weeks we will find a solution for Olisa. The good news is that he has recovered from niggling injuries,” Makaab exclusively told Footy-Africa.

However, in a recent conversation with Footy-Africa, Makaab admitted he remains uncertain whether the former Orlando Pirates defender will continue his career in South Africa.

“Honestly not sure, at this point”, Mikaab said when asked if the player will remain in South Africa.

Makaab’s latest remarks suggest Ndah could be set for a move outside South Africa for the first time since arriving in the country in 2021.

The central defender joined Orlando Pirates from Nigerian club Akwa United after a successful trial and went on to establish himself as an important member of the Buccaneers squad, enjoying considerable success during his time at the club.

Ndah was previously linked with Sudanese giants Al Hilal and Libyan side Al Shomooa following his departure from Pirates, but ultimately opted to remain in South Africa by signing a short-term deal with Stellenbosch.

A serious injury later disrupted his progress, sidelining him for several months towards the latter stages of his Orlando Pirates career. Following his recovery, he struggled to reclaim a regular place in the team, and his contract was terminated at the end of January.

Seeking regular playing time, Ndah joined Stellenbosch midway through the season. However, he had to wait approximately a month for his work permit before becoming eligible to feature for the club.

He eventually made his debut for Stellenbosch in March 2026 against Chippa United, operating in a defensive midfield role.

With his short-term deal now expired and interest emerging from multiple markets, Ndah’s next destination remains uncertain, although a move away from South Africa appears increasingly likely.
