Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates have entered advanced negotiations to sign Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis from Göztepe, a reliable source disclosed to Footy-Africa.

Footy-Africa contacted a source close to the transfer for the latest developments and was told that talks between Dennis and Al Jazira are now at an advanced stage.

The source also revealed that several European clubs have shown interest in the 23-year-old but have so far failed to meet Göztepe’s valuation.

Belgian side Anderlecht recently made an offer of around €3 million, but the proposal was rejected by the Turkish club.

A number of German Bundesliga clubs have also stepped up their interest, with Hoffenheim, Mainz, Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt all having made enquiries or monitored Dennis in recent weeks.

Coventry City had previously been considered among the leading contenders, while Galatasaray and Trabzonspor have also been linked with the defensive midfielder.

However, the emergence of Al Jazira could change the picture, with the UAE club now in advanced negotiations.

The source said European clubs have undervalued Dennis compared with Göztepe’s asking price, which is understood to be around €7 million.

The player is keen to join a project that guarantees regular first-team football and allows him to continue his development.

The source also expressed concern that a move outside Europe, particularly to the UAE, could have an impact on Dennis’ prospects with the Nigeria national team.

Anthony Dennis to decide future as Bundesliga clubs join transfer race

Dennis joined Göztepe from Nigerian academy side HB Academy and made 31 appearances during the 2025-26 season. He has twelve months left on his contract.

His future is expected to become clearer in the coming days as Al Jazira and the interested European clubs assess whether they are prepared to meet Göztepe’s valuation.
