Footy-Africa understands that the 12th-placed Belgian outfit are keen on the youngster, who has emerged as one of the most highly sought-after talents in Nigeria following a string of impressive performances for the academy.
It is understood that the two clubs are already in active contact regarding a potential move. Sources suggest that the teenage forward has recently traveled to Belgium for a series of trials to showcase his abilities first-hand.
Negotiations imminent
Leuven’s technical staff are believed to be impressed by Ikechukwu’s display during his trial period. The club is now reportedly ready to enter formal discussions to secure his signature.
With the player currently remaining in Belgium, negotiations over a permanent transfer are expected to commence in the coming days.
