Brighton vs Manchester United match preview

Brighton enter this clash in seventh place on the standings and need a win to be assured of European qualification for next season. Under manager Fabian Hurzeler, the Seagulls have enjoyed a decent campaign so far, winning 14 of their 37 matches.

They have drawn 11 times and have lost 12 of these matches, scoring 52 goals and conceding 43. They have also won all of their last three matches in front of their home fans, making them favourites for this encounter.

Man United, meanwhile, have secured Champions League qualification ahead of next season and will finish the season in third position regardless of their result on the final Matchday.

The Red Devils have enjoyed remarkable turnaround since Michael Carrick took over from Ruben Amorim in January and have already surpassed expectations after their 15th place finish last season. The three-time European champions have also scored 66 goals, which stands as the third best in the whole league.

Prediction

This clash has a rich history of producing high goalscoring affair, with the last four matches producing at least three goals and given both teams’ impressive attacking output in recent games, this particular encounter should follow the trend.

Brighton vs Man United Head-to-Head

  • 11.01.2026 – Man United 1-2 Brighton
  • 25.10.2025 – Man United 4-2 Brighton
  • 19.01.2025 – Man United 1-3 Brighton
  • 24.08.2024 – Brighton 2-1 Man United
  • 19.05.2024 – Brighton 0-2 Man United

Brighton have enjoyed more success in recent head to head meetings between these two sides, winning three of the last five matches including a 2-1 win in the FA Cup earlier this year.

However, Manchester United won one of their last two visits to the Amex and would fancy their chances once again.

Recent form: Brighton

Brighton have been inconsistent in recent outings, winning two of their last five Premier League matches and were defeated 1-0 by Leeds in their last match.

However, the Seagulls have won all of their last three at home and have kept a clean sheet in two of these games, scoring multiple times in the run.

Recent form: Manchester United

Manchester United have been in good form in recent outings and are currently unbeaten in their last five league games, winning four out of five during this period.

However, they were held to a stalemate in their last away match by Sunderland, although they have only lost one of their last eight away games.

Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo returned among the goalscorers when he scored what proved to be the winner against Nottingham Forest the last time out.

The former Brentford forward also scored twice in the reverse fixture and his pace could cause Brighton defence problem in this encounter.
