According to Transfermarkt, the 27-year-old centre-back currently has a market value of €35 million, with the latest valuation dated May 27, 2026. He is ranked as the most valuable Burkinabé footballer and among the Bundesliga’s most valuable defenders.

Tapsoba’s valuation has risen considerably since his arrival in Germany. Career

Edmond Tapsoba’s rise is one of the most successful stories in Burkinabé football, taking him from youth football in Ouagadougou to becoming a Bundesliga champion and captain of Bayer Leverkusen.

• Salitas, US Ouagadougou & Portugal (2014–2020): Tapsoba developed through the Salitas Football School before playing for US Ouagadougou. He moved to Portugal in 2017, initially joining Leixões before developing at Vitória Guimarães. His performances for the Portuguese club quickly attracted attention from larger European sides.

• Bayer Leverkusen Breakthrough (2020–2023): Leverkusen signed Tapsoba from Vitória Guimarães in January 2020 for a reported €20.2 million, making him one of the most expensive defenders in the club’s history.
