Experienced Ghana defender Alexander Djiku is set to leave Fenerbahce this summer after only two years at the club. Yellow Canaries manager Jose Mourinho has openly excluded the 30-year-old from his plans for the club, opting for younger players as they hope to end their 11-year league title drought.

With few weeks left until the end of the transfer window, several European teams have expressed readiness in acquiring the services of the Ghanaian defender whose valuation has been set at €5 million.

Here are four possible clubs the highly rated defender could join in the next few weeks.

Spartak Moscow (Russia)

Russian Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow became the first club to submit an offer for the experienced defender, after a €5 million was tabled to Fenerbahce for his signature.

Djiku has been offered an annual salary of €2.3 million, and a switch to Russia could prove tempting for the defender.

Olympique Marseille (France)

French side Olympique Marseille have also set sights on the 30-year-old center-back. Les Phoceens have already lost the services of Samuel Gigot, Chancel Mbemba and Luiz Felipe this summer and adding Djiku to their backline provides leadership and stability to help their rebuild.

The Ghana center-back is also familiar with the demands of playing competitive football in France after previous stints with Caen, Bastia and Strasbourg until his departure in 2023.

Faith Karagumruk (Turkey)

Newly-promoted Turkish Super League outfit Faith Karagumruk have openly expressed their interest in signing Alexander Djiku. The Ghana defender has been shortlisted as a possible option in defense by the Black Red.

Djiku could be tempted by the offer to remain in Turkey, while the move makes sense for Karagumruk as they need experience to boost their chances of retaining their top-flight status at the end of the season.

Villareal (Spain)

Spanish outfit Villareal consider Alexander Djiku as a potential replacement for Logan Costa, who is sidelined for a long term after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear in preseason.

The Ghana defender’s experience of playing European football also suits Villareal, who are making a return to the UEFA Champions League after four years.

Despite being a regular under Jose Mourinho last season, Alexander Djiku is yet to make an appearance for Fenerbahce this season, offering the defender the opportunity for a fresh start elsewhere.
