Fulham vs Crystal Palace match preview

Fulham enter the clash on the back of a 2-1 win over Portuguese side Farense in their previous encounter. The Cottagers head into the new season under former Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa, who was appointed to replace Marco Silva, who left after his contract expired at the end of last season. The West London side have played three games so far, recording one win, one draw and a defeat.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are also preparing for a fresh start next season. Austrian coach Oliver Glasner, who guided the club to three trophies during his time in charge, including the Conference League title last season, has left the club to join Nottingham Forest. In his place, Pierre Sage has been appointed and has huge shoes to fill. The Eagles have also endured a mixed preseason, winning three of their five games so far.

Prediction

This game has a rich history of producing multiple goals, and this clash is expected to follow suit, especially with both sides current defensive lapses.

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi played a starring role during the game against Farense where he scored from the penalty spot.

The Nigerian midfielder will be eyeing another good performance under Arbeloa and his creativity in the middle of the park could be crucial to their chances of winning.
