Galatasaray have no intention of selling Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during the current transfer window, despite renewed speculation linking him with a move away from the Turkish champions, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.

Osimhen has continued to attract interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, while recent reports have also linked Tottenham Hotspur with a move for the Super Eagles forward.

A report by CaughtOffside claimed Tottenham are prepared to offer up to ยฃ55 million for the 27-year-old, with Galatasaray reportedly demanding ยฃ65 million before considering a sale.

However, sources close to the player have told Footy-Africa that a move away from Istanbul is not on the cards this summer, insisting the Turkish champions have no intention of entertaining offers for one of their most valuable assets.

The source added that Osimhen is settled at Galatasaray and remains fully committed to helping the club compete for domestic and European honours.

“Victor is at Galatasaray and is focused on achieving success with the club. There is no intention from Galatasaray to sell him this summer,” the source told Footy-Africa.

There has also been speculation that the Nigerian has been handed the captain’s armband following Mauro Icardi’s departure. Footy-Africa understands, however, that Osimhen is part of the club’s leadership group as one of the vice-captains and has not been appointed the team’s permanent captain.

Osimhen completed a permanent move from Napoli in the summer of 2025 after an outstanding loan spell, signing a long-term contract with the Turkish giants. Galatasaray paid โ‚ฌ75 million to secure his signature after fending off strong competition from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, making him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history.

The decision has already been justified by the striker’s remarkable performances. During his loan spell in the 2024-25 campaign, Osimhen scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, finishing as the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer and playing a decisive role in Galatasaray’s league and cup triumphs.

He has carried that form into the 2025-26 season, registering 22 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. In the Super Lig alone, the Nigerian produced 15 goals and five assists in 22 league matches, underlining his importance as Galatasaray successfully defended their domestic crown.

With Osimhen regarded as the focal point of Okan Buruk’s project, Galatasaray remain determined to keep hold of their star striker, making any transfer away from Istanbul highly unlikely before the close of the summer transfer window.
