Ghana international Abu Francis has completed a transfer to French Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC from Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge in a deal worth around €2.5 million.
The 24-year-old midfielder signed his contract after passing a routine medical on Wednesday, becoming the club’s third acquisition of the 2025 summer window, a club statement confirmed.
Francis joined Cercle Brugge from FC Nordsjaelland in 2022 and made over 60 appearances in the Belgian Pro League, scoring once and supplying seven assists. Cercle opted to sell due to his contract entering its final year.
According to Footy-Africa’s information, there was interest from clubs such as Torino, Genoa, Başakşehir, and Burnley, but Francis was keen on a move to France to continue his development. The deal will see him increase his current yearly wage, which stands at £182,000 — approximately €215,000.
At international level, the former FC Nordsjaelland star has earned five caps for the Ghana national team and is seen as a key emerging figure in the Black Stars’ midfield setup.
